Shotley Convalescence

Today HB3 is ambling gently up the Orwell from Ipswich Haven to Shotley Marina where (it is hoped) structural damage will be repaired and HB3 will be ready for East Coast Race, Cannonball Trophy and EAORA Week. She’ll then come back for a bit of Botox and filler before the next races of the season.

Off to Levington – nice trip – aground on Horse Shoal at Burnham 10 minutes into passage. Otherwise pleasant uneventful 4.5 h motorsail. Sails measured by Pedro Cockayne. Water discharge into bilge solved – leaking water hose. Dave Nicholls replaced lifelines in previous week. Look all set for North Sea next Friday

Well what a result! HB 3 wins EAORA overall for 2007. All on the last race with everyone aware that a number could win.
